Health Coaching

Welcome to the Health Coaching page.  My name is Deborrah Cisneros and I'm a National Board Certified Health Coach (NBC-HWC) and Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach (FMCHC) as well as a Registered Nurse (RN).  I know that is a mouth full of acronyms, but they tell you a lot about my professional training, qualifications, and the approach I adopt when working with my clients.  My training has equipped me with a holistic understanding of health, an abundance of "tools in the toolbox" as well as the skills to create personalized wellness plans which assists individuals in implementing dietary & lifestyle changes that impact their health and quality of life.
The NBC-HWC credential represents that I have met the training, education, and assessment standards set by the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching (NBHWC) in collaboration with the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME). Additionally, these credentials represent the profession's highest standards.

A Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach (FMCHC) is a professional who has undergone rigorous training to understand the interconnectedness of various bodily systems and how lifestyle factors affect these systems. FMCHC coaches utilize the principles of functional medicine to assist individuals in achieving their health and wellness goals. We focus on diet, exercise, sleep, stress management, and emotional well-being, creating personalized plans to address the root causes of health issues, rather than just treating symptoms. Further, a FMCHC is skilled in fostering long-term behavioral changes, facilitating a holistic and proactive approach to health that empowers individuals to take control of their well-being.

Personally, I am a retired Emergency Room nurse, a vocation that I genuinely miss and fall back on a lot with my health coaching. I'm the proud mother of five grown children and am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my fourth grand baby. My husband retired from the military after 31 years.  Life as a military spouse has instilled in me resilience, adaptability, and a love for new experiences.  We lived in the UK for 3 years, returning to the US in 2022. Faced with the delightful dilemma of not knowing where to settle down, we decided to embrace the spirit of adventure and are now traveling full time in our 45ft 5th wheel. This nomadic lifestyle has allowed us to serve as volunteer Camp Hosts in various State & National Parks - a rewarding experience that intertwines our love for nature and community service.  In my free time I enjoy photography, reading, researching, and taking courses.  All of which fulfills my #1 character strength -- "Love of Learning".
